Undiagnosed Dyslexic to CEO: Adam Binkerd on Hope and the Power of Yet - EP 24
Adam Binkerd didn't find out he had dyslexia until he was in his second year of PhD coursework. By then he'd spent most of his life thinking he just wasn't smart. Today he's the founder and CEO of 240 Solutions.
Adam grew up in a farm town in Indiana with fewer than 500 people. His older brother was the straight A student and his teachers never let him forget it. He skipped class a lot and wrote his own hall passes. After high school he worked in a factory and then spent 15 years in the trades.
He, James and Sarah talk about the slow shift from "I can't" to "I can", the math teacher who told him he'd never amount to anything and how adding the word "yet" to a sentence changes the way your brain responds to it.
Adam also shares about a hard season in his life and the choices he made after it. He's honest about all of it and about what finally turned things around.
Now he works with schools, companies and cities to help leaders make sure their people feel like they matter.
